A new 420-place primary school in a rapidly expanding village has been given its name.

Cringleford Prep, as it will be known, is set to welcome its first pupils in September 2024.

The school will become the 18th under the leadership of the Inspiration Trust, after it was selected by Norfolk County Council to run the new site.

The new name comes following a consultation with the public and was revealed following the appointment of founding principal Carmel Greene.

She said: "I am hugely excited to lead Cringleford Prep and to develop something truly exceptional that supports both pupils and parents alike.

"It has been wonderful meeting so many parents, carers and members of the Cringleford community throughout this consultation and for them to have their input on the name."

The trust has also unveiled a new logo for the school, which it says was inspired by a bridge in the village.

The new principal will also be holding an open evening with parents at the Willow Centre to discuss her vision for the school - which will be held at 5.30 pm on October 31.
