A Norfolk man has been accused of the rape of a young girl during a train journey between Ely and Norwich.
Daniel Russell, 36, faces five charges involving serious sexual offences against a girl who was aged under 13 at the time.
Appearing at Norwich Magistrates Court, Russell, of Tolhouse Street in Great Yarmouth, spoke only to confirm his details and did not enter a plea to the charges.
Among them are two allegations that he raped the youngster during rail journeys that were taken between November 2015 and January 2021.

During one train trip between Ely and Norfolk he was said to have raped the girl on at least two occasions.
He is also accused of forcing the girl to look at indecent images for his own sexual gratification while on the train.
Two further charges of rape of a girl under 13 relate to offences said to have occurred at his home address.
Magistrates committed the charges to Norwich Crown Court for a preliminary hearing to take place on August 11.
