A Norfolk marine and wildlife rescue group has announced it will no longer be attending seal pup callouts.
Marine and Wildlife Rescue, based primarily in Great Yarmouth, said on social media yesterday that it has taken the decision to withdraw from rescuing the distressed animals for the remainder of the season.
It said: "We have been incredibly busy with being on the road picking up a host of other wildlife.

"We do not have access to the shared app for reporting these seals and here in Norfolk, we have a wealth of established seal rescue alternatives, including the RSPCA, British Divers Marine Life Rescue and Friends of Horsey Seals who are best to contact.
"We will however be available to assist with entangled seal rescue on our usual number."
The news comes shortly after the charity responded to reports that birds were being shot in The Parklands, off Ashburnham Way in Carlton Colville, Lowestoft.
As such, the shootings were reported to Suffolk police, with a spokesman saying they were investigating "two incidents" and that enquiries are ongoing.
