New concept designs of Great Yarmouth's iconic Winter Gardens ahead of its redevelopment have been revealed.

The Winter Gardens has been closed since 2008 and is the subject of a National Lottery Heritage Fund-supported restoration scheme led by Great Yarmouth Borough Council.

The council is asking for feedback on the concepts and plans to revitalise the iconic Grade II-listed building.

People can share their thoughts with the project team and architects at Market Gates shopping centre on Wednesday from 10am until 3pm, and at Great Yarmouth Library from 5pm until 7pm.

The Winter Gardens is the last surviving Victorian glass house in the country and, in 2021 was one of five transformational projects across the country to be awarded a Heritage Horizon Award from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

It is hoped that with indoor planting, community spaces and café areas, the revitalised Winter Gardens will offer a special atmosphere with opportunities for leisure, entertainment and learning.

Pending approval from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project is due to be completed in 2026.
