Visit Norfolk's secret gardens in full bloom this August as many private green spaces are opening to the public.
Enjoy an inexpensive day out as part of the 2023 National Garden Scheme (NGS), with children going free, dogs welcome in many participating venues and more often than not a delicious tea awaits you.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 5 AND SUNDAY, AUGUST 6
1. SOUTHGATE HOUSE, SOUTHGATE LANE, NORWICH, NR1 2AQ
This garden, approximately an acre in size, was the former Harbour Master’s house and has a mixture of Victorian and contemporary garden styles.
2. 1 WOODSIDE COTTAGES, BRACONDALE, NORWICH, NR1 2AY
A colourful garden attached to a pretty and historic cottage not far from Norwich city centre.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 6
3. BRICK KILN HOUSE, SHOTESHAM, NR15 1UJ
A two-acre country garden with colourful borders, a pergola, sculptures and a stream.
4. 33 WALDEMAR AVENUE, HELLESDON, NR6 6TB
A surprising and large suburban garden with an exciting mix of exotic and tropical plants.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 13
5. BLUEBELL BARN, LYNG HALL LANE, WOOD NORTON, DEREHAM, NR20 5BJ
It boasts colourful borders and a meadow, which in total covers 2.5 acres.
6. SEVERALS GRANGE, HOLT ROAD, WOOD NORTON, NR20 5BL
The gardens here are a perfect example of how colour, shape and form can be created by foliage plants.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 20
7. CHESTNUT FARM, WEST BECKHAM, HOLT, NR15 1UJ
This mature three-acre garden has many rare and unusual plants and trees.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 27
8. COBWEB COTTAGE, 51 SHINGHAM, BEACHAMWELL, SWAFFHAM, PE37 8AY
See a sunken greenhouse, pergola and an ornamental kitchen garden with bees and chickens. There is also a wildlife pond and plants will be for sale.

9. ACRE MEADOW, NEW ROAD, BRADWELL, GREAT YARMOUTH NR31 9DU
A small garden with a dramatic mix of exotic and late-season plants. Plants will also be for sale.
