Get ready to head back to the 1940s next month with train trips and classic cars.

Mid Norfolk Railway 1940s Weekend is taking place in August at the Dereham station.

Visitors to Dereham will be transported back to the decade with displays of equipment, vehicles and characters including the Home Guard Platoon.

There will also be a Blitz immersive experience, a firepower demonstration, displays and stalls as well as groups of reenactors. 

Yaxham will become a British-controlled station near Dunkirk, holding the line against the Germans.

Thuxton is under repair due to an unexploded bomb being found and visitors are asked not to stray from the platform.

Due to maintenance works near Hardingham, trains will be running to Thuxton and Yaxham six times each day.

Mid Norfolk Railway 1940s Weekend is taking place on August 5 and August 6 from 9am to 5pm at Dereham Train Station.

Entry is £2 with children under five going free, return train journeys are £10 and a day pass is £15.

There will be a park-and-ride service from Neatherd High School and a number of parking locations in Dereham.
