Neighbours are in uproar over the construction of dog breeding kennels in the grounds of a home in a peaceful village.
A retrospective planning application has been made to King's Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council for the kennels at 1 Liege Cottage in Basin Road, Outwell.
But the plans have provoked angry objections over noise and concerns about waste in the quiet neighbourhood.
The homeowners have applied for permission to turn the cottage into a mixed-use house for the keeping and breeding of up to 17 dogs and accompanying kennel buildings, along with a building for cats, a field shelter and open run area.
One person will be employed on a full-time basis as part of the dog breeding business.
The applicants have complained to the council that they have endured delays during the planning process and have answered any queries raised by officials in their initial application.

One objector, Michael Crane, described the plans as "ludicrous", adding: "If the plan is to reduce parishioners' quality of life then this is the way to do it."
Phillip Hutchesson complained the "constant barking is unbearable" already, with only a small number of dogs currently being homed there while also worrying it would decrease the value of properties in the area.

Outwell Parish Council has rejected the plans for a number of reasons, including the lack of evidence the owners have a licence to breed at its location.
It also said it is concerned the noise from the kennels would damage the mental health of those living nearby.
The owners of the kennels could be forced to tear them down if the application is refused by the council.
A decision is expected to be made by King's Lynn and West Norfolk Council by August 18.
