A city restaurant is introducing a new outdoor seating area for summer.

Food hall Yalm is extending its dining area, with tables and chairs to be added along the length of the restaurant in the Royal Arcade.

The outdoor seating will be available from 6pm until 11pm, launching this week.

Dan Searle, operations manager at Yalm, said he is expecting the change to boost custom, following the success of its first al fresco area on the White Lion Street side of the historic shopping mall.

He said: “The outside café and dining culture that grew during the Covid restrictions has remained a popular option for many and with expectations of a warm summer, we decided that we would offer our customers the option to enjoy the warmer weather and dine al fresco and not have to worry about any rain as we have the safety net of a roof.

“Anyone choosing to dine outside will order their meals and drinks in the same way on our app.”

The team is in its first summer season having opened in November last year following a significant redevelopment of the former Jamie's Italian site.
