A former police officer accused of raping and assaulting a woman told a court the allegations were not true.
Jason Corley, 42, who had been based at Sizewell in Suffolk working for the Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC), has been charged with four offences, including rape and two of causing actual bodily harm (ABH).
Corley, of Oaklands, Framingham Earl, near Poringland, has gone on trial at Norwich Crown Court accused of the offences which are said to have happened to a woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, between August 2020 and February 2021.
On Wednesday (July 5) the jury of seven men and four women heard Corley deny the allegations as part of his defence.
Corley, who is represented by Michael Clare, was being cross-examined by prosecutor Andrew Thompson who put it to the defendant that the allegations were true.
Corley said: "They are not true."
Earlier this week jurors heard transcripts of interviews given by Corley to police after he was arrested in connection with the offences.
When asked by officers whether he had raped the complainant, Corley insisted "that didn't happen".
The defendant was asked whether he assaulted the complainant.
He said: "That didn't happen."
Officers asked Corley whether any of the things he was accused of had happened.
Corley said: "No."
Police also asked whether he ever threatened her with a knife but again Corley replied: "No."
Jurors have previously heard from Andrew Thompson, prosecuting, who said Corley assaulted and raped the woman on September 12, 2020.
He said Corley grabbed the woman by the throat despite her "trying to get him off" and threw her onto a bed before putting his knee on her neck.
In another alleged assault, on September 26, 2020, Mr Thompson said Corley got "very angry" and "grabbed her throat" and "strangled" her.
Corley has denied all offences.
The trial continues.
