Mystery surrounds the sudden closure of a post office barely a year after it opened for business in new premises.
South Lynn Post Office opened on July 5 last year in the Tranquility gift and crystal shop on London Road, King's Lynn.
The business, which had relocated from a nearby store, offered post office services six days a week.
But the postmaster quit and the post office was closed down on Saturday, July 1.
A Post Office spokesman said: "South Lynn Post Office regrettably closed with immediate effect on Saturday. The postmaster has resigned.
"Alternative branches include Wisbech Road and Kings Lynn.”
No reason has been given for the sudden closure, which leaves just two post offices remaining to serve the entire town of Lynn.
Tranquility remains open for business, with just the post office area of the shop closing.
The owners declined to comment on the post office closure when approached by the EDP.
