That’s a school trip they’ll never forget!
Children from Hingham Primary School are cherishing this amazing picture with the Prince of Wales during his surprise visit to the Royal Norfolk Show.
The year five pupils were among a group from the school at the show and happened to be having their picnics in the area near the cattle rings when Prince William walked past.
The royal visit created massive excitement among hundreds of youngsters – and the Hingham children were lucky enough to get this never-to-be forgotten photo.
Headteacher Vickie Newrick said: “It’s amazing and they all had such a marvellous day. I’m so proud.
“I was with a group on another part of the showground and as we walked back someone said ‘I think that’s Prince William’ and we realised our children were having their photo taken with him!”
One prominent smiling face just to the left of the prince is deputy headteacher Tom Shackleton.
The children chanted the prince’s name and also sang songs from Matilda, which they are staging at the end of term.
