Hundreds of community heroes were saluted for their amazing contribution to life in the county during a poignant ceremony at the Royal Norfolk Show.
In recognition of the King’s wish to promote community cohesion and the spirit of volunteering, about 700 community champions came together in the grand ring on Wednesday.
The tribute, organised in partnership with the Norfolk Lieutenancy and the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association, featured people from all walks of life who give countless hours supporting a wide range of good causes.
Proudly decorated in the colours of their uniforms, flags and banners, the champions were addressed by the Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk The Lady Dannatt.
She said: "Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your contribution in this wonderful county.
"His majesty is as proud of you as I am and wanted to pass his immense thanks and congratulations to you all."
Managing director of the RNAA Mark Nicholas said: "The Royal Norfolk Show has a long history of honouring and recognising achievements and this year we are particualrly delighted to promote Norfolk's champions who do so much for our communities."
