Jurors have been sworn to try the case of a former police officer who has been accused of rape and assault.
Jason Corley, 42, who had been based at Sizewell in Suffolk working for the Civil Nuclear Constabulary, has been charged with four offences, including rape and two of causing actual bodily harm (ABH).
Corley, of Oaklands, Framingham Earl, near Poringland, has denied the offences which are said to have happened to a woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, between August 2020 and February 2021.
On Monday (June 26) a jury of seven men and five women were sworn in at Norwich Crown Court to try the case of Corley, who appeared in the dock wearing a stripy shirt.
Andrew Thompson, prosecuting, is set to open the prosecution case before Judge Andrew Shaw later today.
Michael Clare appears on behalf of Corley.
