A Norfolk woman is to be sentenced after she admitted assaulting her mother after they had been out drinking, a court has heard.

Tanya Green, 51, appeared at Norwich Crown Court having been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm after she attacked her mother on December 16 last year.

Norwich Crown Court heard Green and her mother had "both been drinking too much" when the attack happened at Lilian Close in Hellesdon.

Green, of Charles Marler Way, Blofield, denied the offence but pleaded guilty to a lesser offence of common assault.

Juliet Donovan, representing Green, urged the case be adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared for her client who she said "had a lot of issues from childhood".

She said drinkng was a "huge issue" for Green.

Judge Andrew Shaw adjourned sentence until July 25 to allow a report to be carried out but insisted he could not rule anything out, including immediate imprisonment.

He said it was an "unpleasant" assault on her mother who suffered an injury.
