It has already revitalised the traditional ice cream van and now a Norfolk dessert firm is putting a spin on the quintessential afternoon tea.

Reesey's, based in Downham Market, is about to launch its unique version of the British classic complete with graffitied teapots, colourful cakes and more.

It will be launched at Ffolkes in Hillington, near King's Lynn, at the end of this month.

Emma Rees, who runs the business with husband Wayne, said: "Since April we have had a residency at the Ffolkes which has been great for us.

"Our twist on the afternoon tea will be offered to guests at the hotel initially on Friday and Saturday and if successful will be expanded to the pub six days a week.

"It is really fun and looks very cool and creative."

Reesey's offers soft-serve ice cream with a difference from its colourful van, which are loaded with toppings.

As well as its signature bright and colourful treats, the menu has been expanded to include other dessert options like sugar doughnuts with a Kinder Bueno sauce and layered cakes.

There are also plans to expand to a second van following a busy two and a half years that has seen them travel across Norfolk and further afield to serve its signature desserts, which hopes to be up and running by next spring.

Mrs Rees added: "We always have a great response when we turn up and we have become quite well established in the area now.

"This year we plan on running in the colder months well, flipping the menu to loaded hot chocolates and crumbles and will be looking to visit events like winter markets, Halloween and Bonfire Night celebrations."
