An Albanian man has appeared in court over a cannabis farm in a house in a quiet residential cul-de-sac.
Artenis Shiehu was arrested when police raided a property on Millview in Ormesby St Margaret, near Great Yarmouth.
Norwich Magistrates Court heard the 20-year-old had attempted to escape through rear gardens as police armed with a search warrant broke in the front door on June 6.
A search discovered more than 50 cannabis plants in a growing operation inside the house that had an estimated yield value of £250,000, prosecutors said.

Shiehu, of no fixed abode, entered no plea to a charge of being involved in the production of cannabis.
The court was told his defence was seeking forensic evidence to prove the involvement of others and that he had been following the directions of an Albanian gang.
District Judge David Wilson committed the case for a trial at Norwich Crown Court with a preliminary hearing set for July 5.
He remanded Shiehu in prison saying there was a risk of him committing further offences or failing to attend court.
