A lorry driver says he is “fed up” with his door being kicked in by teenagers repeatedly during the night.

Teenagers first kicked the door of the driver on Killick Crescent in Carlton Colville, near Lowestoft, on Sunday, May 28 and they have been returning every night since.

The HGV driver, who wanted to be known just as Shaun, works for Clays and starts work in the early hours, went out on one occasion and there were “dozens” of youths with hoods up and faces covered.

He said: "It isn't just a casual ding dong dash, we are talking about youths lumping my door, kicking chunks out of it.

"On one of the nights, I wasn't in bed and was able to open my door to chase them away when I came out of my house there were dozens of them standing there, hoods up and masks on.

"They are doing this to my neighbours too and it's not fair on any of us."

Suffolk police say they are reviewing CCTV footage and are working with the community to tackle the problem.

A spokeswoman said: “We are investigating reports of teenagers kicking front doors of residential properties and running off in Carlton Colville.

“Officers have conducted house-to-house enquiries, speaking with local residents and we are reviewing CCTV opportunities to identify those involved.

“We encourage anyone with information, or those who believe they have been a victim of similar antisocial behaviour to contact police so we can investigate thoroughly.”

Shaun, who has lived in the Lowestoft area for 30 years, says in his time this is the worst he has known it.

He said: "It seems to have got worse around here, I don't know why but we have all had enough.

"I am a single parent to a 14-year-old lad, he and his friends go to the park with a football.

"There is no way I would allow my boy to behave like this, so the parents who are should be ashamed."
