The arrival of an imposing 10 foot dragon statue has been pushed back over traffic concerns.

Matt Darge, a chainsaw artist, and Andy Sullivan, owner of Norski Noos Gallery, have joined forces to bring the two-ton carving made from spalted beech wood to watch over the Dereham business.

The statue was due to arrive at 10am on June 1, however, this has now been delayed to June 5, arriving at 7.30am.

Mr Sullivan said: “We have had to slip the delivery because we are mindful of any negative impact on traffic movement in the car park.”

The statue was created by Mr Darge, who creates wooden sculptures with his chainsaw, over the last three months.

It will reside outside the gallery on Nunn's Way, next to the Cowper Road car park.

The dragon is so large it will have to be lifted in via a crane.

It cost £10,000.
