A Norwich international student died in a crash on a highway in America while on a trip with fellow students to Canada
Olivia Moore was killed when the vehicle she was driving veered off the Interstate 90 highway in New York state and struck a guardrail at 2am on April 29.
The 21-year-old from Old Catton, and a rear-seat passenger, Francesca Ward, 21, also from the UK, both died at the scene.
The crash, which occurred in Ontario County, involved a sport utility vehicle containing four women, all international students attending Temple University in Philadelphia, who were travelling to Toronto.
Two other passengers - a 21-year-old woman from Spain and a 22-year-old woman from Japan - were not injured.
An inquest into Miss Moore’s death opened at Norfolk Coroner's Court on Monday heard she died from multiple injuries.
Assistant coroner Samantha Goward said the court had requested reports from US state troopers about the circumstances of the crash which happened between the New York Thruway exits for the towns of Geneva and Manchester.
The inquest was adjourned until December 6.
