From a major outdoor concert to a three-day steam rally, here are some of the best things to do in Norfolk over the late May bank holiday in 2023.
1. Strumpshaw Steam Engine Rally, Strumpshaw
Where: Strumpshaw Hall Steam Museum, Old Hall, Strumpshaw, NR13 4HR
When: May 27-29, gates open at 9am
Price: £10 (cash only), under 16s: free, includes free entry into the museum and parking
Enjoy a day of vintage family fun, with the main attraction being four majestic and lovingly-polished examples of early 20th-century engineering.
Valiant, The Gaffer, Rambler and an ex-British Army traction engine will all be firing up as part of a display of hundreds of engines and vintage vehicles.
There will also be steam-powered fairground rides, food and drink outlets, craft and trade stalls and displays in the grand ring from Harvey's Shire Horse team.

2. Billy Ocean concert, Sandringham

R&B legend Billy Ocean performs Norfolk's first major outdoor concert of the year at Sandringham over the bank holiday weekend.
He had a string of international pop hits in the 1970s and 80s, including Love Really Hurts Without You, Red Light Spells Danger and When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Gets Going.
3. Breakin' Convention, Norwich
Where: Norwich Theatre Royal, Theatre Street, Norwich, NR2 1RL
When: Free activities: from 12noon, performances: 2.30pm/7.30pm

Breakin’ Convention, the world’s ground-breaking festival of hip-hop dance theatre, is back and celebrating 20 years.
It will feature jaw-dropping performances from international acts and local crews from across our region.
To celebrate the shows there will be free events and activities during the day, including graffiti artistry and a stencil workshop.
4. Pageant of Motoring, Sandringham
Where: Sandringham Estate, PE35 6EN
When: May 28, 10am-5pm

Make a weekend of it by heading to the prestigious Pageant of Motoring after seeing Billy Ocean at Sandringham on Saturday.
There will be hundreds of classic vehicles on display and even a hurricane flypast.
Other highlights include live music, trade stands, a vintage market, food stalls and bars, best-dressed awards and a vintage fun fair.

5. City of Literature Publishing Fair, Norwich
Where: National Centre for Writing, Dragon Hall, King Street, Norwich, NR1 1QE
When: May 28, 10am-4pm

The fair takes place on the final day of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival 2023, with a whole host of events happening throughout the bank holiday.
The Publishing Fair will feature workshops, talks and events with some of the most exciting contemporary writers.
6. Food and Craft Fair, Old Buckenham
Where: Old Buckenham Country Park, Doe Lane, Old Buckenham, NR17 1PP
When: May 28, from 11am
Price: Free entry
Old Buckenham Country Park, near Attleborough, is hosting its first Food and Craft Fair with around 60 stalls there from 11am until 4pm, offering everything from cakes to skincare products.
There will also be seven street food vendors, ranging from burgers to waffles, and live music into the evening.

7. The Fairy Fair 2023, West Acre
Where: Bradmoor Woods, Narborough Lane, West Acre, PE32 1FQ
When: May 28-29, 10.30am-5.30pm
Price: £8.50 in advance or £12.50 on the day, under 3s free, workshop prices vary, fairylandtrust.org, parking £1 cash
Enjoy a magical day out in the woods with your little ones as this annual event returns, which raises funds for Norfolk-based charity The Fairyland Trust.
There will be workshops ranging from fairy training to festival crowns, with a mix of pre-bookable sessions and drop-in activities, and there will also be live music.
