New homes aimed at young couples could be built in a Norfolk village.
Developer Norton Hill has applied for planning permission to build three bungalows, five apartments and a retail unit on land off Furlong Road at Stoke Ferry, near Downham Market.
It says in a planning statement: "The scheme would offer a range of bungalows and apartments, aimed at young couples and older people wishing to downsize, in turn freeing up larger family homes in and around Stoke Ferry.

"The retail unit encourages an active frontage creating better natural surveillance and the potential to offer a much needed additional community facility in the village.
"A convenience store in this location would increase the retail offer within the village, promote active travel and walkability across Stoke Ferry and reduce the reliance on car trips."
The site was originally earmarked for a new village hall. But the village decided to keep the current hall after securing permission for a larger car park.
A decision is expected later this year.
