A 19-year-old student who suffered from a brain injury as a baby died following a seizure, an inquest heard.
Liam Kerr, of Stuart Close in Gorleston, was found “collapsed” by a member of staff at the James Paget hospital.
Despite efforts to help him, he died at the hospital on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.
An inquest into his death was opened by assistant coroner, Christopher Leach, on Wednesday, May 17.

The court, held at Norfolk Coroner’s Court, heard that Mr Kerr was identified by his grandmother, Wendy Kerr.
She confirmed that Liam James Kerr was born on August 26, 2003.
The medical cause of death was given as multiple organ failure following, or due to, status epilepticus – a type of seizure that occurs continuously for much longer than usual or in quick succession with no time for recovery.
The court was also told that Mr Kerr had suffered from a brain injury as a baby.
A full inquest into Mr Kerr’s death will take place at the court on Monday, November 13.
