A schoolboy from Thetford died from “severe head injuries” after being struck by a car, an inquest heard.
Salvador Modke, 15, of Fulmerston Road, was hit by a Hyundai Ioniq in London Road, near the centre of Thetford, at about 11.45am on Saturday, May 14.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to the crash but despite treatment, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Several bunches of flowers and candles have since been placed in tribute along the railings at the pedestrian crossing at Icknield Way.
Salvador was a Year 11 student at St Benedict’s High, a Catholic school in Bury St Edmunds.
Following his death, the Bishop of East Anglia, Peter Collins, paid tribute.
He said: “Let us pray for the grieving members of Salvador’s family as they contend with their devastating loss. We extend our prayerful embrace to the community at St Benedict’s.
“As one family within our diocesan communion, let us stand together in the solidarity of faith, hope and love.
“May Salvador rest in peace and rise in glory through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
“I ask all parishes, together with our network of diocesan schools, to pray for Salvador and his family over the coming days and weeks.”

The medical cause of death was given as “severe head injury following a road traffic collision”.
A full inquest to determine the official cause of death will take place on Monday, November 27 at the Norfolk Coroner’s Court.
