Drivers face delays and diversions on the main Norfolk coast road from Monday.
Stretches of the A149 at Titchwell and Brancaster are being resurfaced.
Both will be closed at times while the works are under way, beginning overnight on Monday when cats' eyes will be removed.
Surfacing work will be carried out on Friday, May 19. Convoy traffic management will be in operation between 9am and 4pm.
On Thursday, May 25, road markings and cats' eyes will be replaced overnight from 7pm.
The road will be clolsed at Titchwell, and convoy traffic management will be in operation at Brancaster.
Diversions will be signposted while the works are in progress.
The road will be resurfaced using a thin layer of bitumen and stone chippings, which prevents water penetration and potholes forming.
People are urged to drive slowly and considerately across the new surface until it is bedded in and highway teams return a few days later to sweep up the loose stones.
