A seal that was found with fishing net ropes around its neck is being nursed back to health by an animal rescue team.
The young seal, called Cogsworth, was rescued from Tank Beach in Sheringham on Sunday (May 7) after it was discovered with at least two different ropes stuck around its neck.
The distressed animal was reported to the British Divers Marine Life Rescue which attended the scene in the hopes to cut it free.
Matt Curtis from the team said following an assessment of the injuries, it was determined that the seal needed further treatment as the net had caused injuries to its neck that had become infected.
It was then taken directly for rehabilitation at RSPCA East Winch Wildlife Centre.

A spokeswoman said: "The seal is still with us but unfortunately she is very poorly.
"She has a few different issues going on as well as the entanglement injury but we can assure you we are doing everything we can for her.
"She is currently on medication and receiving intensive care treatment in our isolation unit."
