New shops could be built on the site of a former aviation museum.
Pondworld Retail Park has applied to build eight new units on the former Fenland Aviation Museum, on the outskirts of Wisbech.
It stood beside Pondworld's existing retail park on Lynn Road at Walsoken.
In a planning statement Pondworld said: "The proposed development will create spaces for small and even start-up businesses to situate themselves on a retail park with the added benefit of further employment opportunity.
"The previous use of the site was Fenland Aviation Museum, which is now in the process of relocating."
The statement adds the new shops will use the existing access on to the site and the development will include 50 extra parking spaces.
The museum, which announced its closure last year, is re-locating its collection to other sites including the City of Norwich Aviation Museum.
It featured both aircraft, including a Cold War Lightning fighter jet, and parts of crashed Second World War planes which had been recovered by aviation archaeologists.
