Villagers are rallying round an eight-year-old girl with a rare cancer.

Ameera Talbot-Cooper from Rudham, near Fakenham, was diagnosed with an inflammatory myofibrolastic tumour in February.

Her mother Charlotte Talbot said: "It's a rare type of tumour, they usually find it with adult lung cancer patients.

"Ameera has it on the front of her bladder. She's going to Addenbrooke's once a week for chemotherapy, she's one of only 26 children in Europe on a trial drug."

Factory worker Miss Talbot, 39, said her daughter remained upbeat and had named her tumour Bob.

She and her partner Dave Cooper spent 72 days in Addenbrooke's with Ameera, while her sisters Zabrina, aged five and three-year-old Talulah stayed with relatives in Scotland.

They more than doubled their £1,000 target, while Ameera was able to join them briefly at Bircham.

Organiser Bev Howell said: "The whole community is devastated. It's affected us all.

"Ameera is incredible, a true superhero, she is a little person fighting a big battle and we wish to show her family love and support, every step of the way."

She said they hoped to help towards the costs of travelling to Cambridge for treatment each week, and provide some much-needed fun for Ameera and her family after treatment.

More than 120 people have donated to a Justgiving page.

Friend Abigail Moyse has also launched a GoFundMe page, which has raised more than £3,400 towards its £5,000 target.
