A major road was shut for several hours after a trailer carrying fertiliser overturned on the outskirts of Norwich.

Police were called to the Northern Distributor Road (NDR) at 8.48am.

The road was closed at Horsford roundabout at all four entry and exit points.

Emergency services, including Norfolk Fire Service crews, remain at the scene.

An Environmental Protection Unit and the Environment Agency also assisted.

There was heavy congestion in the area following the incident.
