The A47 was closed earlier this evening in both directions in the Dereham area due to a tanker fire.
Norfolk Police tweeted at 7.20pm on Thursday (April 27) about the incident, advising drivers to avoid the area where possible.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service were called at 6.15pm and sent appliances from Watton, Dereham and Earlham to the vehicle fire along the A47 at Wendling, to the west of Dereham.
Crews used main and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
Norfolk Police confirmed at just before 9pm that the road is now clear in both directions.
