A student raped a woman in her 20s while she slept in his bed at accommodation at the University of East Anglia, a court has heard.
Nayan Trivedi, 24, was a student at the UEA when he allegedly raped and sexually assaulted the intoxicated woman who had been sleeping in his bed.
It was after she had taken ketamine before a night out at the university campus, the court heard.
Trivedi has gone on trial at Norwich Crown Court having denied rape and assault by penetration.
A jury of six women and six men were told the woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was taken back to Trivedi's accommodation after she felt unwell during the night out.
Joanne Eley, prosecuting, said: "It’s the prosecution’s case that early on February 3, 2019, Nayan Trivedi took advantage of her intoxicated, sleeping state and raped her and assaulted her by penetration while she slept in his bed."
Miss Eley said the complainant had been sick in Trivedi's sink before falling asleep.
She said the complainant woke up to find Trivedi was having sex with her but she "didn't know what to do".
In her intoxicated state she thought it was not happening and fell back asleep but awoke to find him "using his hands" on her.
Miss Eley said she was "shocked and scared" and "didn't know what to do".
The complainant messaged her boyfriend in the morning to say she was "not okay" and "needed him" back with her.
She told him Trivedi had "f****d me while I was asleep" and found him "doing stuff to her" when she woke up.
Police were informed after the complainant confided in a friend.
She told police there was no romantic involvement between them and "she didn't consent to having sexual relations with him".
Trivedi, from Southend, was to tell police "she had consented" to sex and he did not think she was asleep.
The trial continues.
