A new bar inspired by the New York cocktail scene is opening in the city promising 'good times and great drinks'.
The new Tombland spot, 11th & Social, is planning on offering a cocktail and food menu alongside a range of music.
It is the first venture of Matthew Dakers, who has been in the industry for 25 years and has been nominated for UK’s best bartender twice.
Mr Dakers said: "It is exciting to be opening my very first venue.
"This will be the first time I put my own ideas down and present them. It will be a collection of all my experience."
The menu will have a collection of signature cocktails inspired by the award-winning London bars he has worked in before such as Mahiki in Mayfair and Trailer Happiness in Portobello Road.
And funk, boogie, disco and acid jazz will also be played to give the bar its atmosphere.
Mr Dakers said customers can "expect excellent service which is individually approached and drinks that showcase fresh and authentic flavours".
He added: "The menu will change periodically in order to support sustainability and seasonality.
"The atmosphere will be relaxed in the early hours and more energetic as the night goes on."
There are plans to have a happy hour every day with two for one drinks between 5pm and 8pm and bottomless prosecco and champagne brunches from 3pm on Saturdays.
The space, which is currently being renovated, will have lots of seating as well as room to mingle and move.
The new bar on Upper King Street, 11th & Social, is planning to open on Wednesday, May 17.
Opening hours have not yet been confirmed.
