A countywide effort has been launched to gather "community champions" together for a coronation-inspired honour at this summer's Royal Norfolk Show.
Nominations are being encouraged from across Norfolk for the Community Champions Tribute at the showground on Wednesday June 28.
The special celebration will recognise unsung heroes from a range of community groups, charities, volunteering organisations, and recipients of already-established local award schemes.
The assembled community champions will take part in a massed gathering in the show’s Grand Ring, where they will be addressed by the Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, the Lady Dannatt.
The tribute is being organised in partnership between the Norfolk Lieutenancy and the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association (RNAA), acknowledging one of the key themes of the forthcoming coronation - to promote community cohesion and volunteering.
Organisers said the aim is to "say thank you to those who do so much for our communities and good causes and to acknowledge their work at the county’s biggest event of the year".
Mark Nicholas, managing director of the RNAA said: "The Royal Norfolk Show has a long history of honouring and recognising achievement and this year we are particularly delighted to promote Norfolk’s champions who do so much for our communities."
The Royal Norfolk Show, taking place at the Norfolk Showground on June 28 and 29, will be making its tribute as part of the county's celebrations of the coronation of King Charles III and the Queen Consort on May 6.
Leaders of Norfolk-based community groups, charities and volunteering organisations are encouraged to nominate up to two deserving volunteers to represent their organisation at the tribute.
Organisations wishing to put forward their community champions can request a nomination form from Helen Bibby by emailing helen.bibby@outlook.com.
All nomination forms must be returned by Friday, May 12.
