A teenage girl who was filmed assaulting one of her classmates is to receive a 'police intervention'.
Footage of the incident, which emerged online in January, showed a pupil of Cliff Park Ormiston Academy being attacked close to the school.
Two girls were arrested following the assault, which was reported to police on January 23.
Now, the constabulary has confirmed one of the girls has been referred to its youth offending team for 'intervention'.
These teams are run by police forces to work with young people who get into trouble with the law to help them stay away from crime.
The second teenager who was also arrested in connection with the incident remains on police bail.
The incident, footage of which was shared widely on social media, was described as "sickening" by Great Yarmouth councillor Mike Smith-Clare, Labour's spokesman for education in the area.
He said at the time: "It is absolutely sickening that anyone could use such unnecessary violence to hurt another - let alone film it and share it."
