The inquest into the death of a Norwich man has been adjourned again while a murder investigation continues.
The body of 63-year-old Leslie Smith was found inside his Suffolk Square flat on October 17, 2021.
His death was initially treated as unexplained until a post-mortem examination revealed he may have suffered an injury.
At a review hearing at Norfolk Coroner’s Court at County Hall, Norwich, on Wednesday, April 12, the inquest was adjourned again.
Yvonne Blake, an area senior coroner for Norfolk, said the inquest was unable to proceed as they were “still waiting to see if there will be criminal proceedings”.
A Home Office post-mortem was carried out on October 24, 2021 and the case of Leslie Alexander Smith’s death remains inconclusive.
A pre-inquest review or hearing has been scheduled to take place later this year on Thursday, June 8.
Since launching a murder inquiry, officers from Norfolk Constabulary have been working to establish the circumstances surrounding Mr Smith’s death.
