A fairytale home with turrets is on the market in north Norfolk for just under half a million pounds.
The duplex penthouse, in a grade two listed building with great views, is for sale for £495,000 in Donthorn Court, Aylsham.
In the first turret sits a breakfast room on the first floor and study on the second floor. The entrance and staircase are situated in the second turret.
The building dates back to 1850. It was originally designed as a workhouse and later became St. Michael’s Hospital.
It’s the last surviving urban workhouse by local architect William Donthorn, a founding member of the Royal Institute of British Architects.

Once the hospital closed, the building was converted into apartments and townhouses by Hopkins Homes.
The property boasts three bedrooms, two en-suites and a bathroom stretching 1,930 square foot.
There is a mezzanine level on the second floor with an open-plan sitting and dining room leading to the kitchen.
Three parking spaces are available, as well as a lockable brick storage shed in the gardens.
The property is on sale with Norwich-based Fine & Country.
