A long-running butcher's shop in a Norfolk village has been given a new lease of life following an exciting refurbishment.

Hewitt and Grant in the High Street, previously called E. Hewitt Butchers, has been in Coltishall for more than 100 years and in 2016 it was taken over by Tom Grant, 35.

It has two rooms and the largest has always housed the butchery cabinets, with the adjoining room through an archway with a pie and deli cabinet.

This smaller space has now been transformed into a village store packed with local goodies.

This includes fruit and vegetables, products from Norton's Dairy, frozen pizzas from Brick, sauces from The One Food Company and Hainford Honey.

Mr Grant said: "The smaller side room has never been properly utilised and I have been asked multiple times by customers where they can go locally to get nice things, so it made sense to put those things here.

"The reaction since opening on Good Friday has been very positive with lots of new faces."

The opening times are Tuesday and Wednesday 8am-4pm, Thursday and Friday 8am-5pm and Saturdays 8am-2pm.
