A section of a town centre road has been cordoned off after a sinkhole caused a section to collapse.

The crater emerged at some point on Saturday (April 8) in King Street in King's Lynn.

Cones and a sign surrounding the gap in the road have been put in place by police to warn drivers of its presence.

The sinkhole is situated outside St George's Guildhall and close to the Globe Hotel pub.

Matthew Pery, a Deliveroo driver in the town spotted it this afternoon and said the hole is "pretty deep".

Vehicles can still pass through the road although it is causing traffic to build up at busy moments.
