Detectives have been granted more time to question two teenagers after launching a murder investigation following the death of an 82-year-old woman in Pakefield.
Police were called just after 1.50pm on Saturday, March 25 to reports than an elderly woman had been found lying on the floor in her home in Grayson Avenue following a robbery.
The incident is believed to have happened between the evening of Friday, March 24 and early Saturday morning, March 25.
The victim was found conscious but in a serious condition before being taken to James Paget Hospital for treatment.
The woman died at hospital in the early hours of Monday, March 27.
Subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, the deceased was identified as Joy Middleditch, aged 82.
Two boys, aged 15 and 14, both from the Lowestoft area, were arrested on Friday on suspicion of murder.
They were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
This morning, detectives have been granted a superintendent's extension to detain them for questioning for an extra 12 hours.
