The grieving family of an 82-year-old woman killed during a raid on her home has paid tribute to her, saying she "loved life" and has been "taken too soon".
Joy Middleditch died after being knocked to the floor during the masked raid in Grayson Avenue in Pakefield.
Police described the attack as "callous and cowardly" and officers are continuing to hunt for the perpetrators.
In a statement, the family said: “Joy was a strong, determined character who loved life and her dog.
“She was a loving person who was sadly taken from us too soon.
“We as a family would like to thank the police and the community for all their help and support.”
The incident is believed to have occurred during the hours of darkness at some point between the evening of Friday, March 24, and early Saturday morning.
Officers found Mrs Middleditch, who was conscious and lying on the floor, at 1.50pm on Saturday.
She died in the early hours of Monday, March 27.
The cause of death has yet to be confirmed and there have been no arrests.
The robbers stole an orange handbag, with a silver link chain, that contained her purse, cash and keys, after forcing their way into the home.
