A 1960s chalet which is said to blight the view of a historic castle is set to be demolished.
Castle Rising Estate applied to knock down the building, on Lynn Road next to the Norman castle on the outskirts of King's Lynn.
It says it is at odds with its beautiful setting and could be replaced with four new cottages more in keeping with their surroundings.
West Norfolk council officials have recommended that the authority's planning committee approve the plans when it meets on Monday, April 3.

A report to councillors says: "The principal driver behind this project has been to achieve the removal of the existing late 20th century chalet dwelling which is considered inappropriate within this village setting.
"The replacement dwellings proposed are designed to be entirely in the Castle Rising style which befits the setting especially when taking into consideration the prominence of its location within the village conservation area but also in the context of the castle and its earthworks, a scheduled monument in its own right."
The now ruined castle was built in the 1130s after the Norman conquest.
