Clippesby Hall Holiday Park has been named winner of the Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year award, sponsored by Next Phase Leisure and Sunseeker Holiday Homes, at the East of England Tourism Awards 2022-2023.
Located near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, Clippesby Hall is a family-owned camping and touring site that covers 34 acres of woodland and has remained under the ownership of the Lindsay family since it was first established in the 1960s.
It has eight distinctive areas, ranging from tucked away spaces to large open-perimeter pitches and shepherd huts.
In 2019, the site opened a ‘Basecamp’ area, allowing it to welcome offsite visitors to its bar, restaurant, shop and recreation area.
Other onsite facilities include play parks, tennis courts, mini golf and table tennis, plus a launderette, information reception, cycle hire and four shower blocks.
The judges described Clippesby Hall as “a gem of a find in the Norfolk countryside”, adding that it offers “incredibly well-thought-out facilities to suit all guests, no matter what time of the year they may be visiting”.
They also praised the “faultless” customer service from team members who “came across as happy to be at work and went the extra mile to ensure guests were left wanting for nothing”, as well as the “immaculately tended” grounds that “oozed character and charm with plenty of space to roam”.
John Lindsay, owner of Clippesby Hall Holiday Park, said: "We are honoured to have been chosen for the award. We have the most amazing team who work tirelessly all year round to give our guests a fabulous time, whether they are camping, staying in a pine lodge or visiting BASECAMP. This award will give the team and business a huge boost."
He added that Clippesby Hall continues to develop more all-weather camping pitches for year-round use and is also looking to build more glamping accommodation.
