A man jailed after being exposed by online paedophile hunters is seeking to reduce his sentence.
Jamie Overson, 37, was jailed for three years and three months for sex offences against what he believed were 13 and 14-year-old girls but were in fact members of a group known as Phoenix Guardians of the Innocent.
Norwich Crown Court heard he communicated with three profiles on Whatsapp, encouraging them to carry out sex acts on themselves and send him pictures.
He also asked one whether she would like to meet up in Blackpool.
The former binman was arrested after he had been confronted live on Facebook by members of the group at his home at Northumberland Street in Norwich.
He has now applied to have his jail sentence reduced.
His case will be considered at the Court of Appeal on March 16.
Jailing him in November, Judge Alice Robinson also imposed a 10 year sexual harm prevention order saying he posed a danger to children because of the “rapid escalation in your online conversations including attempts to meet up”.
