Despite this week's snow, spring is just around the corner and will bring with it blooming flowers and long green grass - the perfect place to hide chocolate eggs.

Here are five of the best places to take the little ones for an Easter egg hunt in April. 

The Great Dino Easter Egg Hunt - RSPB Strumpshaw Fen

April 1 - 10am to 4pm

Armed with the dinosaur explorers' trail sheet, find the dino nests hidden on the reserve and earn yourself a reward.

Activities also include making your own fossil to take home and enjoying the breadth of local wildlife on offer at the reserve. 

No need to book, just turn up on the day and pick up your trail from reception.

Easter Egg Hunt - Somerleyton Hall & Gardens

April 6 to April 10 - 10am to 5pm

Entry: Adults – £11.50, over 60s – £10.50, children (3-16) – £8.50

Complete Somerleyton Gardens' Easter trail set in their stunning gardens and receive an Easter Egg prize.

Set over 12 acres, the gardens are considered some of the finest in East Anglia since the mid-17th century and see thousands of visitors every year.

The Hall has even doubled as Sandringham Estate in Netflix's The Crown.

Easter Treasure Quest and Egg Hunt - Hoveton Hall Estate

April 7 to April 10 - 10.30am to 5pm

Follow the clues around the expansive gardens and answer the puzzle at the end to receive an Easter prize.

There will also be a mini Easter Egg Hunt in the walled gardens for the under fives. 

The village of Hoveton will also be host to the Broadland Spring Fair on March 11 hosted by Sarah Claxton who runs a number of other crafts events in Norfolk including the Sprowston Easter Fair and Hellesdon Spring Bank Holiday Fair, running on April 8 and April 29 respectively. 

Blickling Easter Egg Hunt - Blickling Estate

April 1 to 17 - 10am to 5pm

£3 per child

Taking place across three weeks, Blickling Estate's egg hunt includes a trail map, bunny ears, a pencil and a chocolate egg at the end, plus many more activities to keep the whole family occupied.

A decade-long quest to try a scone from every National Trust location saw Blickling Estate crowned as one of the best in the country - with scone-taster Sarah Merker rating it near the top of the 244-long list.

Easter Egg Hunt - Whitwell & Reepham Railway Station

April 8 - 10am to 3pm

Advance Ticket: £5.50 per child (includes a train ride for one adult and one child)

Along with train rides, colouring sheets, a raffle and plenty of entertainment, Whitwell & Reepham Railway Station will be the perfect place to get lost in as you follow their treasure map to the secret prize.

Food and drink options will be available all day and the station encourages everyone to make and bring their very own Easter bonnet.

The north Norfolk spot will be hosting a 1940s-themed weekend in mid-April which will see vintage vehicles on display in the marquee alongside stalls and exhibitors.
