From spa days to ultrasonic teeth cleaning, a new dog grooming boutique hopes to keep the city's canines looking fabulous after opening last month.

A vacant beautician in Grove Road in Norwich has been transformed into a luxury salon and is run by 24-year-old Sophia Newman-Sanders who has more than five years of experience in the industry.

The pooch parlour has gained a loyal following since opening, with more and more dogs popping in for a glow-up.

Ms Newman-Sanders said: "We have had a really good start which is exciting. I've caught up with all of my old customers and have lots of new visitors which is great.

"People have really enjoyed our open windows which means they can see inside at our grooming areas and watch their dogs being treated.

"It helps them feel happy and confident leaving them with us and passers-by can also see us in action."

Hound & Co Grooming Boutique is her first permanent premises, having previously worked from a mobile van and rented space.

It offers a range of luxury pampering options including spa treatments, teeth cleaning, de-shedding mud baths and more.

And plans are also afoot to offer training sessions for would-be groomers to learn the tricks of the trade.

There are also plans to grow the retail side of the business selling products to help dog owners keep their hounds looking handsome.

It also has a separate space for nervous or reactive dogs that don't enjoy being around others so they can be groomed in peace away from the stress of a noisier environment.
