Hopes that a beloved boozer could reopen have been raised swiftly after the current landlords decided to close its doors.
Stonegate - the largest pub company in the UK - has confirmed that the hunt for a new tenant is on so the King's Head in Hethersett can reopen.
The closure of the 17th-century pub was announced on Tuesday, February 28.
Jill Tickle, owner of Tickle's Taverns, took over the establishment in June 2022.
Ms Tickle, who also recently announced the closure of the Green Dragon in Wymondham, cited the cost of living, energy prices and wage costs as some of the reasons behind the closure.
The King's Head has already undergone extensive refurbishment - but more work has been promised.
A spokeswoman from the King’s Head said: "The pub has been closed for a £100,000 investment.
"We are currently recruiting for a new tenant and look forward to welcoming them to this historic pub in the near future.
"Keep up to date with our social media for news and updates."
