A sixties rock band have announced an outdoor concert in Norfolk this summer.
The Who will be performing with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra at the Royal Sandringham Estate in August.
The mod band will be supported by Richard Ashcroft and The Lighting Seeds in the finale to their The Who with Orchestra 2023 UK tour.
Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey and the band will perform music from throughout the band’s nearly 60-year career, including sections devoted to albums Tommy and Quadrophenia.
The show on Monday, August 28, is the only gig on their 2023 tour which will see The Who perform alongside the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
Co-founder, guitarist, and vocalist, Pete Townshend, said: “Opening up the Estate to large-scale concerts is a fantastic way of keeping us uplifted and enjoying congregation at what I’m sure will be a fabulous summer celebration. We can’t wait.”

The show will feature The Who’s full live band comprised of guitarist and backup singer Simon Townshend, keyboardist Loren Gold, second keyboardist Emily Marshall, bassist Jon Button, drummer Zak Starkey, and backing vocals by Billy Nicholls, along with orchestra conductor Keith Levenson, lead violinist Katie Jacoby, and lead cellist Audrey Snyder.
Pre-sale for the concert opens at 9am on March 8 and general release tickets go on sale at 9am on March 10.
The Sandringham Estate saw performances from Katherine Jenkins and stars from the West End as part of a programme of events to commemorate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
This year, pop legend Robbie Williams will be performing on Saturday, August 26 and 27, and chart-topping R&B legend Billy Ocean will be gracing the stage in the Royal parkland on Saturday, May 27.
These acts are part of wider plans for more live events at the estate.
