A cocktail bar in Norwich's clubland could have its licence reviewed after a noise complaint was made.

Sherbet Lemon, in Prince of Wales Road, has been served an abatement notice after a person living nearby complained about the loud music coming from the venue.

An application has been made by a Norwich City Council public protection officer for its licence to be reviewed arguing the bar had breached the terms of its licence due to excessive noise levels.

However, no other people living nearby have made a complaint.

In the application, it states a recording from the complainant's living room in a property 18 metres away was 18dB above the "already loud noise from prince of wales road."

The person also said this was "one of the least noisy recent events" and they believed it definitely had come from Sherbet Lemon.

The owner of Sherbet Lemon has been contacted but declined to comment.

In recent years, concerns have been raised for the area's future as Norwich's nightlife district due to the approval of a number of new housing developments in the area.
