A historic boutique in Norfolk's 'poshest' village is hoping to expand.
Nick Fryer has applied for planning permission to extend the Gun Hill Clothing Co, in Burnham Market, with a "modest" single storey rear extension to provide extra retail space.
He says in a planning statement the Grade II listed building, which dates back to the 18th century is "an important addition to the market place".
Mr Fryer adds: "The proposed changes will improve the building's ability to serve as a modern shop for the foreseeable future, providing single storey access for those with mobility issues to a larger retail area.
"This can be achieved without damaging the building's heritage value. To a causal passer-by on the market place, no changes will be visible."
Burnham Market was named one of Britain's poshest villages last month by the Times. The accolade came after it was awarded similar status in December by the Telegraph.
A decision is expected from West Norfolk council later this year.
