MP George Freeman talked of a "generational failure" of the political class for not taking earlier action on climate change during a sold-out public debate.
The Mid-Norfolk MP made the comment at a meeting at Wymondham Central Hall, which was filled to capacity, and featured a panel of cross-party speakers.

Mr Freeman made poignant reference to his daughter expressing her deep fears for the future, saying this was a “terrible indictment for all of us”.
He added: “Unless we can empower the next generation we are in trouble – we need the belief of young people.”
As well as Mr Freeman, the panel included Michael Rosen, Suzanne Nuri-Nixon, Catherine Rowett, and Hayley Pinto.
A total of 140 people attended the event on February 24 and were given a chance to hear how each political party aims to meet the challenge of the climate crisis.
Hosts Climate Hope Action in Norfolk, known as CHAIN, will meet to discuss outcomes from the evening, and how the momentum and call-for-action generated by the event can be built on.
