A former soldier with an "obsession" with extreme right-wing politics has been convicted of three terror offences at the Old Bailey.

Sejr Forster, of Cardiff Road in Norwich, was convicted at the court in London of possessing material which could be useful to somebody preparing a terrorist attack.

The 25-year-old "neo Nazi" was on trial relating to documents found on his mobile phone and book he purchased from Amazon which contained instructions on making explosives and firearms.

A jury took almost four hours to find him guilty of two out of three counts, which Forster had denied.

Previously, the court had ruled he could only be reported as S Forster - but following a challenge from this newspaper the reporting restrictions were lifted.

During the trial, the court heard that Forster had grown obsessed with the extreme right while as young as 13 years old.

It heard that he began to collect Nazi memorabilia, including images of Hitler, t-shirts emblazoned with Third Reich symbols and a 'Hitler Youth knife'.

Police raiding his home recovered a mobile phone from underneath his mattress and a copy of a book - US Army Improvised Munitions Handbook - which he had purchased from Amazon at the age of 16.

The mobile phone contained documents which included diagrams and instructions relating to bomb-building - labelled bomb.pdf.

He previously told the court that his arrest, in April 2022, had served as "a wake-up" call and he disposed of many of the objects.

The trial also heard that he had posed for photographs doing Nazi salutes on more than one occasion - including once in front of graffiti of the 'Black Lives Matter' logo.

Forster was convicted of three out of four offences - two found by the jury and a third by admission.

He will be sentenced at a later date.
